The poem was a writing exercise at a workshop based on a Raymond Carver poem, if I remember correctly, where he took a load of cliches and twisted them around to create a poem - the original was very funny.

I have to admit that it was written long before I posted it on the blog, but I&#039;m sure that the posting date has some significance so on that basis I will allow you to claim it as a special poem just for you!
